Services
Therapy
The goal of therapy is to empower children, adolescents, and their caregivers to navigate life's challenges and find a path to feeling better. Dr. Moline focuses on fostering self-understanding, reducing unhelpful coping strategies and mental health symptoms, strengthening caregiver-child relationships, and enhancing practical skill-building. Through genuine curiosity and collaboration, we explore how your mind works, how emotions feel in your body, and how to align with your values and needs to enhance wellbeing.
Examples of Treatment Needs
Therapeutic Approach
Ready to take the first step in your child's mental health journey?
Assessment
The purpose of psychological assessments for children and adolescents is to gain a comprehensive understanding of their intellectual development, information processing abilities, and emotional, behavioural, adaptive, and social functioning.
This understanding helps families by providing diagnostic clarity (e.g., identifying Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, etc.) and enables Dr. Moline to tailor recommendations for each child in the context of their unique strengths and areas of need.

From out of town? Assessments for families from Edmonton, Red Deer, etc. can be provided with a hybrid of virtual and in-clinic sessions to reduce travel. Autism assessments specifically can be completed with 1 in-clinic day.

Supervision & Consultation
Dr. Moline offers supervision and consultation for clinicians practicing the new modality, Emotion-Focused Therapy for Youth (EFT-Y), and for clinicians more broadly. Not limited to Alberta soil!
Caregiver Workshops
Parenting workshops, conducted in a group format, aim to empower parents with knowledge, skills, and strategies to support and nurture their children's development. These workshops aim to provide a forum for parents to share experiences, build skills, gain insight, and gain a deeper understanding of how to help their children, fostering a supportive community of caregivers who can better meet their children's emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do all Registered Psychologists (R. Psych) share the same training and credentials?
No! In Alberta, it's far more common (4 out of 5) for a Registered Psychologist to have earned a Master's degree (MA, M.Ed) as opposed to a Doctoral degree (PhD). While a Master’s degree is typically completed in 2 years, a PhD requires a minimum of 4+ additional years after achieving a Master’s, and also requires a 1 year residency.

In Alberta, registration standards for psychologists differ from most other provinces. While the vast majority of provinces require a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Alberta's standards are more inclusive, allowing Master's level training and various educational backgrounds (e.g., Counseling or Educational Psychology degrees). As per the Canadian Psychological Association, a PhD is the standard recommended for practicing psychologists. A doctoral degree signifies advanced qualifications and expertise, as exemplified by Dr. Moline. However, it's essential to understand that this diverse registration approach can lead to varying competencies among Registered Psychologists.
A PhD in Clinical Psychology involves extensive training specific to diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychological disorders. It involves research skills and specialized training in therapeutic techniques with years of mentorship and direct supervision. In contrast, Master's degrees provide briefer training and programs other than Clinical Psychology are tailored to specific settings and populations. When selecting a provider, it's important to take into account your specific needs in relation to their areas of expertise and scope of practice.
